Fun Walk 2025

The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and a cool breeze carried the mouth-watering aromas of boerewors, coffee and freshly baked treats through the park. Laughter and footsteps filled the air as this year’s Fun Walkers did lap after lap – some chasing the promise of a free coffee, all walking to support Brander Park.

The second Brander Park Fun Walk, held on Heritage Day, Wednesday 24 September 2025, was once again a huge success. While some took to the track, others enjoyed catching up with neighbours and friends. The kids kept the jumping castle busy, the dogs were on their very best behaviour and – thanks to their responsible owners – left nothing behind but smiles. Cupcakes, boerie rolls, and a variety of hot and cold drinks added to the cheerful atmosphere.

The morning ended on a high note with our raffle draw, where the lucky winners walked away with:

• a large bag of dog food, sponsored by Blouberg Vet
• 1 kg of coffee beans from George’s Coffee Bar
• a generous voucher from International Hair Extension
• two underarm laser treatments from LS Therapy
• a carpet-cleaning voucher from West Coast Cleaners
• plus braai wood, fire starters and a lovely sun hat kindly donated by members of the Brander Park community.

The Friends of Brander Park Committee would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all our neighbours, friends, sponsors and supporters for making the morning such a success. Special thanks go to George’s Coffee Bar for once again sponsoring coffee vouchers for those completing nine laps as well as to SRG for their presence, and for contributing sweetie packs and balloons for the kids.

The generosity of the community helps keep our favourite green space well-maintained and welcoming for everyone to enjoy.
